— ❥ Let’s start with a small introduction. My name is Shoba. I am a Sri Lankan, Tamil, and Catholic by birth. I happily married the love of my life on Jan 18, 2017. He is an Indian, Gujarati, and Hindu by birth. We had many complications as do many couples. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to overcome all the obstacles and get married. We both made many sacrifices and many compromises. Our relationship is one in a few, breaking a lot of norms in our cultures.
I started this blog as a motivating means of talking about my new life as a new wife living in a joint family, narrating and expressing my experiences, encounters, inspirations, and daydreams. It has since then become relentlessly changed and become more of everything in my life oriented.
I myself write all the posts which vary from makeup -> food -> dessert -> hookah -> events -> traveling and then some more. While I spend much time writing this blog, I am also trying to finish my Bachelors, so I apologize for the lack of post from time to time.

For some reason living in a joint family in today’s world is so surprising. But it’s truly amazing. We need to understand marriage is not just the union between two souls (at least in South Asian cultures)!! It’s the union between two families, and a gazillion other semi souls (your extended family). I always wanted a big family so the idea of living in a joint family was not that big of a deal.
A family is the most important and amazing thing in the world and everyone comes to realize at some point or the other in their life.
Our joint family consists of 11 members (for now).
